Leadership Changes at City of Austin Economic Development

On Friday the City of Austin announced Veronica Briseño had been named Chief Economic Recovery Officer. She was most recently Director over the Economic Development Department (EDD).

The interim EDD Director, Sylnovia Holt Rabb, was most recently served as Deputy Director.

Veronica Briseño, Director (currently Chief Economic Recovery Officer)

Veronica Briseño (Director of the Economic Development Department) was appointed by Austin City Manager Spencer Cronk to serve as the City’s Chief Economic Recovery Officer – leading response for newly developed recovery programming and funding opportunities for those impacted by COVID-19 in Austin. Sylnovia Holt Rabb, Deputy Director (currently Acting Director)

The City of Austin Economic Development Department is excited to announce Sylnovia Holt Rabb as the new Deputy Director. She has over 22 years of experience in non-profit corporations and local government. Sylnovia currently serves as Acting Director to oversee the department’s administrative functions. She also leads the Creative and Cultural Ecosystem to create economic growth for businesses and the community.
